Created over six months in Haines, Alaska this is my behind the scenes as a naturalist and photographer. This is representative of the experience I had as a guide, an environmental scientist, and a member of the community.

Over the course of the summer, I watched my tour guests photograph Haines, and each day I photographed my own personal behind the scenes.

The title of the collection “Are we gonna see a bear” is a common question by our guests. They come to Haines hoping, or expecting, to see a bear. An expectation fanned by the cruise ships trying to sell tours. Of course, bears are unpredictable, and sightings are inconsistent.
